Title
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
BACKGROUND: Jeff Oris, former MCRA Executive Director, engaged Steven Fett Architecture to assist in the development of building design guidelines/regulations for the MCRA. Mr. Oris had discussions with Andrew Pinney, Senior Planner, and Mr. Fett on the initiative with the goal of having the design regulations integrated into the MCRA’s façade improvement grant program and incorporated into the City’s Code of Ordinances.
The agreement (copy attached) outlined a three step process as follows:
• Part One: Site Analysis, Mapping and Establishing a District Plan
• Part Two: Regulation Booklet
• Part Three: Executive Summary
Mr. Fett has completed Part One and it was presented to the Development Services staff and the Interim Executive Director for initial review last week. Part One of the plan is being presented to the MCRA Board for review and feedback (copy attached) prior to moving forward. The goal is to ascertain agreement amongst the Board as to the concepts being presented in Part One.
