RESOLUTION - APPROVING WORKERS' COMPENSATION WASHOUT SETTLEMENT WITH GEORGE WOOLLEY IN THE AMOUNT OF $85,000 WITHOUT ADMISSION OF COMPENSABILITY.

BACKGROUND:                     Mr. George Woolley became a City of Margate police officer on August 27, 1990 and retired from his position on January 4, 2019.  The above settlement was negotiated with the employee, Risk Manager and Third Party Administrator, and it is found to be in the best interest of the City and the retiree.  Confidential medical information is contained in relevant documentation. For this reason, there are no attachments besides the resolution. The settlement is proposed in order to satisfy the known liability and reduce the potential for future liabilities. This settlement is presented to the City Commission pursuant to Section 2-38 of the Margate Code of Ordinances. 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     For Approval

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     $85,000 - Insurance Fund
