Title
RESOLUTION - APPROVING WORKERS' COMPENSATION WASHOUT SETTLEMENT WITH ERIN YOUNG IN THE AMOUNT OF $120,000 WITHOUT ADMISSION OF COMPENSABILITY.
BACKGROUND: Margate Police Officer Erin Young was hired by the City on January 29, 2001. The above settlement was negotiated with the employee, Risk Manager and Third Party Administrator, and it is found to be in the best interest of the City and the retiree. The settlement is proposed in order to satisfy the known liability and reduce the potential for future liabilities. Confidential medical information is contained in relevant documentation. For this reason, there are no attachments besides the resolution. This settlement is presented to the City Commission pursuant to Section 2-38 of the Margate Code of Ordinances.
RECOMMENDATION: For Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: $120,000 - Insurance Fund
