Title
RESOLUTION - AMENDING AND UPDATING THE CITY'S LISTING OF SOLE SOURCE MANUFACTURERS AND PROVIDERS PREVIOUSLY APPROVED UNDER RESOLUTION NO. 19-047; AUTHORIZING WAIVING OF BIDDING AS REQUIRED FOR THE PURCHASE OF BUDGETED SUPPLIES, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND PROJECTS FOR SO LONG AS THE LISTED VENDOR REMAINS THE SOLE SOURCE FOR THE ITEM(S) SPECIFIED; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND:
On May 1, 2019, the City Commission approved by means of Resolution No. 19-047, a listing of several manufacturers and suppliers as sole source providers. That action ratified staff’s findings that the listed supply sources held exclusive distributorship agreements, territorial markets, product patents, or other related basis for a sole source determination.
Attached is a listing that represents the currently identified sole source manufacturers and providers. The listing is color coded to identify new supply sources added since prior Commission approval (green); supply sources for which updated sole source letters have been requested and received since prior Commission approval (red); and supply sources for which there has been no change or update since prior Commission approval (black). Also, attached are the sole source letters documenting any new or updated sole source suppliers.
Purchasing staff continues to monitor the City’s supply sources and perform due diligence to confirm the validity of all identified sole source suppliers to ensure that they continue to represent legitimate sole sources of supply. As is the case with this current listing, new and updated sole source suppliers will periodically be created and brought before the Commission for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve
