A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID NO. 2020-014 - FIRE STATION NO. 58 - DEMOLITION AND NEW CONSTRUCTION TO SISCA CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, LLC.; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR THE PROJECT. TOTAL AWARDED PROJECT COSTS SHALL NOT EXCEED $4,434,285.45, INCLUSIVE OF THE BASE BID GRAND TOTAL, ESTIMATED PERMIT FEES, CONTINGENCIES, AND INDEMNIFICATION. PROVIDING FOR RECONSIDERATION IN THE EVENT OF IMPASSE WITH THE CONTRACTOR RELATED TO CITY'S PROPOSED AND STANDARD AGREEMENT TERMS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND:
Staff finalized and issued Bid No. 2020-014 for Fire Station No. 58 - Demolition and New Construction. Bid packages were issued to a total of twenty-three general contractors and five of those submitted a bid. After careful review and evaluation of the bids received, staff is recommending an award of the project in the best interests of the City to the contractor with the lowest bid price, Sisca Construction Services LLC.
In the interest of presenting the award recommendation to the City Commission at the earliest possible time, staff is requesting that the Commission award the project to Sisca Construction Services, LLC and authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute an agreement for the project within the parameters stipulated in the title. Staff has included a sample agreement which was also included in the bid document supplied to all bidders. This sample agreement contains the City's standard terms, conditions, and requirements for construction projects and will be used as the blueprint for the final agreement between the City and the proposed awardee.
RECOMMENDATION: Award to Sisca Construction Services, LLC and authorize execution of an agreement
