Body

BACKGROUND:

Staff has identified areas of the City in need of traffic calming devices (speed humps) to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.  The installation of such devices in the past has proven to be an effective method of lowering overall vehicular traffic speeds.  TrafiCop and SiteCop products are currently being used in various areas of the City.  Staff would like to continue the use of these specific brands of products to facilitate standardization and uniformity which will allow for cost effective stocking of replacement parts and accessories, as well as greater efficiency as City staff maintains and installs the products as needed.

The identified areas are as follows:

                     NW 18th Street (Margate Elementary)

NW 69th Terrace (Atlantic West Elementary)

NW 62nd Ave and NW 10th St (David Park)

Maple Drive from Atlantic to Merrill Road (NW 9th Street)

If approved, the listed items will be added to the list of approved sole source products approved most recently under Resolution No. 20-088.
