Title
AUTHORIZING A 90-DAY EXTENSION TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND CRAVEN THOMPSON & ASSOCIATES, INC.
BACKGROUND: The MCRA and Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc., entered into an Agreement for General Engineering Consulting Services dated March 9, 2016. The agreement provided for an initial term of two years with an option to renew for an additional three (3), one-year extensions (maximum of five years total). The contract is set to expire on March 9, 2021.
In accordance with Florida Statute Section 287.055, a competitive solicitation is required before a municipal entity may enter into a continuing services agreement for professional consultants in the field of general engineering services. As such, the City’s Purchasing Department is in the process of issuing a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for a new continuing services agreement for general engineering services.
The resolution and agreement before the Board at this time is for a 90-day extension of the current agreement with Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc., for services during the solicitation process. The 90-day extension will commence on March 10, 2021 and extend until June 7, 2021. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement remain the same.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the 90-day extension.
