Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF THE NORTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER DISTRICT, PROVIDING FOR APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT JB8311F-08-2021 BETWEEN THE AREAWIDE COUNCIL ON AGING OF BROWARD COUNTY, INC., AND THE NORTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER DISTRICT TO ACCEPT iN2L - PILOT PROGRAM FUNDING TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO SENIORS FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 30, 2020 THROUGH NOVEMBER 30, 2021 AND AUTHORIZING THE BOARD PRESIDENT AND PROJECT DIRECTOR RENEW THIS AGREEMENT UNDER THE SAME TERM WITHOUT FURTHER BOARD ACTION, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: iN2L (It is never 2 Late) Pilot Program funded by the Department of Elder Affairs DOEA, is a technology program geared to engage older adults in a variety of activities such as games, virtual travel, learning, exercising and communicating with family members and peers. Socialization has become challenging due to the COVID pandemic, this program is an important lifeline to keep the seniors mentally and physically healthy. Each participant receives an iPad sponsored by DOEA. NW Focal Point Senior Center staff trains and guides the individuals through this new journey.
This contract provides funding for staff to deliver the program.
