UPDATE ON PARKS AND RECREATION BOND PROJECTS.

 

Body

 

                     

BACKGROUND:                     A General Obligation (G.O.) Bond for Park Improvement Projects was approved by Margate voters in November 2018 providing for the issuance of a bond not to exceed aggregate principal amount of $10,000,00. The bond included the following projects:

 

1.                     LED Sports Lighting - Retrofit existing sports lighting to LED sports lighting, located at the Margate Sports Complex, and Southeast Park.

2.                     Vinson Park Improvements - Baseball dugouts, homerun fencing, playgrounds, batting cages, water feature, concession building, picnic shelter, and walkways.

3.                     Oriole Park Improvements - Convert baseball field into soccer/football field, new playground, water feature, picnic shelter, concession building, and other park improvements.

4.                     Centennial Park Improvements - Parking lot, tennis/pickleball courts, playground, picnic shelter, walkways, and other park improvements.

5.                     Calypso Cove - Recommendation of improvements

 

During the August 18, 2020 Bond Update Presentation, the City Commission identified concerns for some of the listed projects. This presentation it to provide an update to the public of the status of each project, and provide additional information as requested by the City Commission.
