Title
INTRODUCTION TO THE CODE RE-WRITE PROJECT
BACKGROUND: The Code Re-write project is identified as a priority project in the City’s 2020 Strategic Plan.
The City is currently under contract with Calvin, Giordano, & Associates for this project. The Scope of Work for this project includes an assessment and update of the current City Code which will involve a review of the Charter and General Ordinances of the City, including the regulations, standards, and definitions set forth within Chapters 2, 11, 17, 23, 31, 35, Appendix A and Architectural Guidelines. The scope of services will clarify particular sections and identify any areas to focus within particular chapters. The scope is divided into two separate phases which contain their own proposed changes, public input and adoption of the code changes. Phase 1 includes chapters 2, 11 and 17, 31 and 35, while Phase 2 includes Chapter 23, Appendix A and Architectural Guidelines.
This item is intended to introduce the consultant to the City Commission and allow an opportunity for the consultant to briefly summarize the scope and methodology of the project.
