Title
PROPOSAL FOR THE DESIGN OF A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT IN THE MARGATE CRA
BACKGROUND: There had been brief mentions made at MCRA meetings in the past few months about having a plan ready for the future vision of the downtown area. MCRA and City staff have been working closely with Steven Fett Architecture on the development of Building Design Regulations for the MCRA that could be adopted by the City as well for use citywide. The guidelines are scheduled for Board adoption at this meeting. The Board and staff have commended Mr. Fett on the work performed to date.
Mr. Fett was asked by MCRA staff to submit a proposal/outline of a scope for the design of a masterplan for the Central Business District located in the MCRA. A copy of the proposal is attached. The scope includes a review of past plans and concepts with staff, meetings with MCRA Board members to discuss suggestions and concerns, and the development of a masterplan with diagrams and illustrations that would be presented to the Board.
RECOMMENDATION: For Board review and direction
FISCAL IMPACT: The proposal submitted is for $18,300. There is available funding in the Professional Services-Other account #140-0510-512.31-09.
