APPROVING THE MCRA’S BUILDING DESIGN GUIDELINES; RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY ADOPT AND IMPLEMENT THE MCRA’S BUILDING DESIGN GUIDELINES WITHIN THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AREA

BACKGROUND: The MCRA and City staff have been working with Steven Fett, Steven Fett Architecture, Inc., since May, 2020 on the development and refinement of building design guidelines for the MCRA district. Mr. Fett has made several presentations to the Board throughout the development process and has incorporated the feedback garnered from the Board and staff which included the addition of a Color Palette, a Materials Palette, and a chapter on Mixed-Use Development.
Attached is the final draft of the MCRA’s Building Design Guidelines for Board review and approval.
If approved by the Board, MCRA staff recommends that the City adopt and implement the MCRA’s Building Design Guidelines within the Margate Community Redevelopment area.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the MCRA’s Building Design Guidelines and recommendation for City adoption and implementation in the MCRA district.
