Title
AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED WITH RELEASE OF REVISED MCRA MATCHING GRANT PROGRAMS FOR COMMERCIAL FAÇADE IMPROVEMENTS, LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS, AND COMMERCIAL DEMOLITION
BACKGROUND: On August 20, 2019, the Board approved a moratorium on the acceptance of new applications to all existing MCRA grant programs so that staff could review the programs and prepare recommendations to modify or eliminate each. On December 10, 2019, the MCRA approved the adoption of guidelines for three new grant programs:
- Commercial Façade Improvement Matching Grant Program
- Landscape Improvement Matching Grant Program
- Commercial Demolition Matching Grant Program
Following is a brief summary of the programs. All programs provide a dollar-for-dollar match and the grant cannot exceed 50% of total cost up to the maximum incentive amount. The grant programs are for existing projects only.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval
FISCAL IMPACT: The MCRA has funds appropriated in the Property Improvements Grants account #140-0510-512.83-35 for this program.
