TERMINATING THE MCRA’S COMMERCIAL DEMOLITION MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM

BACKGROUND: The Board approved a moratorium on the acceptance of new applications to all grant programs under Discussion and Possible Action at the MCRA meeting on August 20, 2019. At that time, Executive Director Jeff Oris recommended an evaluation of the grant programs in place and the incorporation of design guidelines to supplement the new programs moving forward.
At the MCRA meeting on January 15, 2020, the Board approved a new grant program, the Commercial Demolition Matching Grant program via resolution 626.
At the April 14, 2021 MCRA meeting, the various grant programs were reviewed and discussed. The Board gave staff direction to discontinue the Commercial Demolition Incentive grant as the result of a poll of the Board members.
