Title
RESOLUTION - APPROVING THE ADDITION OF CODE COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR POSITION WITHIN THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR FUNDING FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021; PROVIDING FOR BUDGET AMENDMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: Code Compliance is scheduled to be reassigned to the Building Department effective October 1, 2021. Code Compliance is currently overseen by a police department lieutenant. This resolution provides for the addition of a civilian Code Compliance Supervisor within the Building Department, in preparation for this transfer of staffing and duties. Based upon salary survey research and an internal review of pay grades, staff recommends this position be pay grade 25 with a salary range of $63,368 - $88,906. Existing funds within the current budget of the Building Department will provide for the costs of this position for the remainder of fiscal year 2021.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
FISCAL IMPACT: FY 2021 - no additional funds due to vacant position in Building Department and the costs incurred during FY 2021 will depend on the hire date of the new employee.
