Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF THE NORTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER DISTRICT, PROVIDING FOR APPROVAL OF A RATE INCREASE IN THE SUPPLEMENTAL STAFFING AGREEMENT WITH CSI-CATALANO'S NURSES REGISTRY, INC. FOR TEMPORARY STAFFING OF CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT AND/OR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE, ON AN "AS NEEDED BASIS"; PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: CSI Catalano’s Nurses Registry, Inc. currently is providing qualified temporary staff, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), for the Adult Day Care Coordinator position, which is still vacant due to the shortage of nursing staff due to the pandemic. The temporary staffing agency is requesting a rate increase from $28.50 to $35.00which will greatly influence the Center’s budget. The LPN is needed to comply with AHCA regulations and maintain the Adult Day Care operating.
RECOMMENDATION: TO APPROVE
FISCAL IMPACT: Rate increase for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff is from $28.50/hr. to $35.00/hr. The Center’s revenue mainly comes from federal, state and local grants. The use of temporary staffing has been affecting the Center’s budget. This rate increase will influence even more the Center’s budget.
