BACKGROUND:                                          The Northwest Focal Point Senior Center District and AARP Foundation

                                                     are entering into a joint agreement through the Senior Community

                                                     Service Employment Program under which an individual receives

                                                     training in a community service assignment while actively pursuing

                                                     unsubsidized employment. The Center is exploring this path in an

                                                     effort to fill some currently vacant positions. The Center will pay for the

                                                     background screening of the individual. This person will be

                                                     trained/work for the NWFP SC at no additional cost to the Center.

 

                                                     The pandemic has changed the dynamics of the employment market and

                                                     it has been increasingly difficult to find staff.

 

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     TO APPROVE

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     Background screening cost.
