Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, APPROVING AWARD OF BID NO. 2022-007 - FURNISH AND INSTALL (8) HVAC SYSTEMS TO CLIMATE TEMP, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $94,290.00; WAIVING REQUIREMENTS FOR BID, PERFORMANCE, AND PAYMENT BONDS; PROVIDING TO AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND:
The City advertised Bid No. 2022-007 - Furnish and Install (8) HVAC Systems. The bid was released with the requirement that a bid bond be submitted with the bid response as is typically required for bids totaling this dollar amount. However, neither of the two bidders submitted a bid bond. Staff is recommending award of this bid to the low bidder Climate Temp, Inc. This contractor has successfully completed multiple HVAC repairs and installations for the City in recent years. Climate Temp, Inc. has been the lowest responsive bidder and awarded bids in amounts under our normal bonding requirement thresholds for three of the past four years. Therefore, given the proven successful record of the contractor, staff recommends waiving of the bonding requirements and awarding Bid No. 2022-007 to Climate Temp, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION: Award to Climate Temp, Inc.
