APPROVE AND ACCEPT A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE NORTHWEST FOCAL POINT SENIOR CENTER (VOLUNTEER STATION) AND THE SOUTH FLORIDA INSTITUTE ON AGING (SoFIA), FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ITS VOLUNTEERS WITH MEANINGFUL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES WITH CLIENTS SERVED AT THE VOLUNTEER STATION.

BACKGROUND: The Northwest Focal Point Senior Center relies on volunteers to administer its
programs and services. This agreement would allow the Center to work with
volunteers that have already been recruited and have met the criteria for the Senior
Companion Program as per Federal Regulations for enrollment in the program. It
would also provide the volunteers with meaningful service opportunities.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: None. There is no fiscal impact to the Senior Center with this agreement.
