LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF THE DAY - CHIEF JOSEPH GALASKA
BACKGROUND:
The Florida House of Representatives awards the Law Enforcement Officer of the Day. Officer Toy Careccia sent a recommendation letter to Representative Christine Hunschofsky, who nominated Chief Galaska. He was recognized in Tallahassee on May 4, 2023.
Police Chief Galaska was nominated for the “Leadership Award in Policing”. His contributions to community policing have been truly exceptional and have made a positive impact on the lives of many people. As the Chief of Police for the Margate Police Department, his ability to build bridges between the police and the community has not gone unnoticed. His willingness to listen to the rank and file, as well as community leaders, and to implement positive changes in policing, is a testimony to his commitment to making a difference. This well-deserved recognition and nomination is a testament to his dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to serving the community and the men and women under your supervision. Chief Galaska’s exceptional leadership skills, unwavering commitment, and remarkable achievements have made him a standout among your peers, and have earned this prestigious award nomination.
