RESOLUTION - APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH BROWARD COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS FOR THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 5, 2024
BACKGROUND: The Broward County Supervisor of Elections (SOE) will select, assign, train, pay and work directly with the poll workers. This Agreement provides for the City to indemnify the SOE for the engagement and assignment of poll workers and the performance of the obligations of the SOE, although liability is limited by Section 768.28 Florida Statutes.
This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney’s Office.
The City of Margate will hold its next election on November 5, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission authorize the attached Agreement for Municipal Elections with Broward County Supervisor of Elections.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no additional fiscal impact associated with approving the Agreement for Municipal Elections.
