Title

RECOGNIZING RICHARD UBER’S 5 DECADES OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO MARGATE’S WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Body

BACKGROUND:

In October 1975, Richard Uber began his journey with the City of Margate, embarking on a career that would span 6 decades (‘70’s, ‘80’s, ‘90’s, ‘00’s, ‘10’s, and ‘20’s) and would exemplify a commitment to our community's water safety and quality, working his way up from a Treatment Plant Operator to Plant Superintendent and eventually to Plant Manager. From the start, Mr. Uber was more than just an employee; he was a pioneer in the field of water treatment, dedicated to ensuring that every resident had access to safe drinking water.

In 2015, Mr. Uber retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and excellence. However, his commitment to Margate's wellbeing brought him back in 2017 to manage the Water Treatment Plant again, as an independent contractor.

As Mr. Uber steps into retirement once again, we recognize and celebrate the indelible mark he has left on the City of Margate and its water treatment plant. His dedication over the years has not only ensured the quality of our drinking water but has also set a standard for public service. We are grateful for his nearly 50 years of service, and as we bid him farewell, we do so with the knowledge that his service will continue to influence the city, its utility, and its residents for many years to come.
