Title

A RESOLUTION OF THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AUTHORIZING THE FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND LANDSCAPE SERVICE PROFESSIONALS, INC.; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATE CRA OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE

Body

BACKGROUND:

On October 15, 2015 the MCRA executed an agreement with Landscape Services Professionals, Inc. for maintenance of landscape and irrigation services for MCRA owned properties and medians.  Initially, the agreement had one year term, and as authorized by Article 3 - Agreement Time - the agreement has been renewed for an additional two (2) one (1) year extensions.  The last and current extension will expire on October 15th, 2018.

Currently, the City’s Procurement Department and MCRA Staff are working diligently on issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage a vendor for a new contract for these services.  This process is expected to be completed within the next three months.  As a result, staff is recommending a 90 day extension to the current contracted services with Landscape Services Professionals, Inc.  The upcoming RFP will have additional components such as a provision for the supply of plant materials and additional areas to be maintained by the MCRA.  The RFP is in its final draft stages with an anticipated solicitation and award recommendation within the next 90 days.

Recommendation:                     To Approve

Fiscal Impact:                     The cost for landscaping and irrigation services for the 90 day period is estimated at $66,000
