APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE REGULATIONS FOR NEW PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, AND HIGH SCHOOLS.

Body

 

BACKGROUND: The City Commission adopted Ordinance 1500.621 on May 19, 2016, enacting a six month moratorium on charter schools.  This ordinance proposes to provide certain location and processing requirements for any new public or private (including charter) elementary, middle, and high schools.                      

 

RECOMMENDATION: This item was approved by the Development Review Committee on November 8, 2016. A copy of the meeting minutes is attached.  The item appeared before the Planning and Zoning Board on December 6, 2016 and was approved with a 2-1 vote. A draft copy of those meeting minutes is also attached.
